Around ten municipalities withdraw from the “Most Beautiful Festivals in France” label after the revelation of funding by Pierre-Edouard Stérin

"One of the most beautiful festivals in France takes place here," promises the sign adorned with the blue and white logo of the eponymous association. By obtaining this label, several municipalities thought they had seized a windfall to develop their traditional festivities. But the revelation by L'Humanité , in July, of links between the association Les plus belles fêtes de France and the galaxy of conservative billionaire Pierre-Edouard Stérin made the badge suddenly embarrassing for some organizers.
The young association is in fact closely linked to the events agency Studio 496 – in reference to the date of Clovis's baptism – in which Pierre-Edouard Stérin is a shareholder. The businessman is also one of the association's patrons through his Common Good Fund. Of the sixty or so certified festivals, around ten municipalities and associations in Brittany, the Basque Country, and Gironde have therefore decided to withdraw, due to the controversial image of the billionaire who, through his Pericles project, wants to work towards the "electoral victory" of the right or the far right.
